Please join the CFRT on Friday, March 25, 2011 hosted by XL Construction . The meeting will focus on The Reno Technology Park Data Center.

The Data Center industry is exploding and new plans for development seem to appear every day as the demand for computing space continues to grow .  How can we focus on and validate those attributes of a site that differentiate it from the others?  Hear from a team that is putting "Total Cost of Ownership" to the test at a promising new site in Reno, Nevada.

Listen to KC Mares, CEO of MegaWatt Consulting and Director of Mission Critical Projects at XL Construction present with his team on The Reno Technology Park (TRTP).

TRTP is 2,200 acres dedicated to data center operators for the lowest total cost of ownership of anywhere in the U.S.  Located in the safest natural disaster zone in the U.S. and less than a one-hour direct flight from the Bay Area, TRTP provides all site infrastructure (i.e., power transmission and distribution, electrical substations(s), water and sewer, on site fiber conduits, and “First layer” security, etc). TRTP benefits the operators with significant tax advantages, providing the lowest tax expense lowest long-term electricity. The moderate climate supports year-around economization for compress-less cooling and annual PUEs of less than 1.1. Multiple high voltage transmission lines feed the site from different grid connections and supply sources and over 600 MWs of dedicated on-site and off-site wind, solar and natural gas generation provide the highest availability and redundancy at the lowest long-term cost. Nearly unlimited on-site water and reclaimed water and power supply allow for unlimited expansion. TRTP bisects long-haul fiber for nearly every major fiber provider.

Data Center Predictive Modeling- How to Minimize TCO Through System Level Optimization
Jim Rodriguez, General Manager at Romonet USA

With the data center industry in pursuit of the lowest PUE, lowest TCO and maximum bang for every capital buck, trying to optimize what is effectively a complex system at a component level will never result in the optimum solution to meet your needs. Systems level Predictive Modeling is a new and innovative capability that offers a new approach".
